Abstract

Cyber Risk has been looming around all over the world and is only increasing as the days pass by. These risks have given rise to huge loss financially as well as psychologically. It takes a lot of effort to pull the strings together and take on the challenges after facing a cyber-threat. Government, Corporates, Institutions and Society have been playing their role in spreading awareness on cyber-crimes and to safe guard the people against any sort of data breaches. The first steps toward being prepared for cyber risk is being aware of the risks involved and identify the exposures that come with it. This paper focuses to analyze the level of cyber risks among individuals in India and identify if there is any association of demographics and awareness of cyber risks. While it has been established from the study that there is no association between gender and cyber awareness, there are few factors which has shown the association toward cyber awareness. The study also opens way for further discussions on how cyber awareness among individuals lead to a responsible behavior pattern to ensure they are cyber secure.
